How SaveKit handles your information — what we collect, what we don't, and how we keep your data safe.

1. Introduction

Welcome to savekit.io (“SaveKit”, “we”, “us”, or the “Service”).

This Privacy Policy explains how SaveKit handles information when you visit or use the website.

By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Personal information

SaveKit does not require an account, social login, name, or email address for you to use the downloader.

The limited technical and usage data needed to operate and secure the Service is described below.

2.2 Technical and usage information

To operate, secure, and improve the website, SaveKit may receive a limited amount of technical information, such as:

  • Browser type
  • Device information
  • Anonymized IP address
  • Basic usage data
  • Analytics metrics

We use this information to:

  • Keep the Service functioning
  • Improve performance and the user experience
  • Detect and address security issues
  • Understand how the website is used and identify areas for improvement

SaveKit does not use this information to identify you or create a personal profile.

2.3 URLs and download requests

When you enter a URL, SaveKit temporarily processes it to find publicly accessible content.

SaveKit only processes:

  • Public URLs
  • Content you choose to submit
  • Content that does not require a login, authentication, payment, or the circumvention of access controls

Processing takes place in real time. After a request succeeds, SaveKit does not store:

  • A library of the files you download — nothing is catalogued, listed, or made searchable here
  • A download history or user-linked account
  • The URL you entered

A file you download is fetched by SaveKit and streamed to your device rather than served to you directly by the platform. A copy may remain in our delivery cache for up to one year so the same file arrives faster if it is requested again; the cache may evict it sooner. That copy is not listed, searchable, or linked to you. After a valid copyright report, we may locate and remove the related copy when technically possible.

A URL may be retained in three situations:

  1. A URL that cannot be processed — the URL may be kept for up to 7 days to help us identify and fix the error. Tracking parameters are removed first. See Section 3.3 for details.
  2. A URL you choose to share — if you use the Share feature, the URL is stored — together with a preview-image URL where one is available — so the shared page can be opened again. This record expires automatically after one year. If you do not use Share, the URL is not stored in this way.
  3. A URL sent with in-app feedback — if you rate a download negatively in SaveKit’s feedback prompt, the URL is sent with that rating so we can investigate and improve the service. The record expires automatically after 90 days. If you do not send feedback, the URL is not stored in this way.

Records in these three situations are not associated with a personal identity. SaveKit does not store an IP address, cookie, session identifier, or account alongside them.

These three cases describe records stored by SaveKit’s own systems. Information you choose to email us — such as a URL, error details, browser or device information, and your sender address — goes to our support mailbox and is not covered by the automatic expiry periods above.

3. Cookies and tracking technologies

3.1 Download tool

SaveKit’s core download tool does not require cookies to work.

Cookies and similar technologies may be used by SaveKit’s analytics tools and advertising partners as described below.

SaveKit also keeps a small amount of data in your browser’s own storage: your theme and language choice, whether you have dismissed a prompt, and a short list of your recent searches together with their results so the page can restore them. This stays on your device, is never sent to SaveKit or to a third party, and clearing your browser data removes it. A cookie recording your language is set the first time you arrive, so the site can open in the same language next time.

3.2 Usage analytics

SaveKit uses analytics data to understand how the website performs and where it can be improved.

Specifically, we use this data to:

  1. Provide support — detect when a feature is not working so we can investigate and fix it.
  2. Improve the experience — identify steps or interfaces that may be confusing.
  3. Maintain reliability — detect incidents and changes that affect platform support early.

SaveKit does not use analytics data to identify you, build advertising profiles, sell data, or share data with data brokers. We also do not track you across other websites.

The analytics tools we use are:

  • Google Analytics (GA4) — provides information about traffic and website use, such as pages viewed, country-level location, and device type. IP addresses are anonymized at collection. Data sharing with other Google services is disabled, and data is retained for a limited period.
  • Microsoft Clarity — helps us understand how people interact with the website, including clicks, scrolling, and rage clicks. Sessions are anonymized, do not contain form input, and are retained for a limited period.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics — provides page-view and website-performance metrics. It does not use cookies, fingerprint your device, or track you across other websites.

SaveKit’s analytics tools:

  • Do not require an email address or social login
  • Do not sell or share analytics data with advertisers
  • Do not build user profiles across sessions

You can control cookies and tracking technologies by:

  • Disabling cookies in your browser settings
  • Using standard privacy and security extensions such as uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, or DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials

3.3 Failure measurement

When a URL cannot be processed — for example, because the platform is unsupported, the URL is invalid, or the content is not public — SaveKit may record the failure to help us identify and fix the problem.

The following safeguards apply:

  • Tracking parameters are removed from the URL before it is recorded.
  • No IP address, user agent, cookie, or session information is stored with the record.
  • Records expire automatically after 7 days.
  • The record is used only to identify platform-support issues and troubleshoot failures.

3.4 Advertising

SaveKit is free to use and is funded by advertising.

Third-party advertising. Google, as a third-party advertising provider, may use cookies to serve ads on the website. Advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to show ads based on your visits to this website and/or other websites on the Internet.

Advertising partners may store and read cookies or similar identifiers on your device. They may process limited information, such as your IP address, device type, browser, and country- or region-level location, to serve and measure ads and limit how often they are shown.

SaveKit does not provide advertising partners with the URLs you enter or information about the content you download. The three URL-retention cases described in Section 2.3 are handled only within SaveKit’s systems and are not shared with third parties.

Your choices:

Consent in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland. Where consent is legally required, personalized advertising is shown only after you consent through a Google-certified consent management platform. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalized ads. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the consent dialog.

SaveKit may also display self-served ads selected by SaveKit and labeled “Sponsored”. These ads do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.

4. Third-party services

4.1 Supported platforms

SaveKit only processes publicly accessible content from third-party platforms.

SaveKit does not:

  • Access private or restricted content
  • Bypass login requirements or access controls
  • Circumvent platform safeguards or rules

SaveKit is an independent service and is not affiliated with supported platforms, including Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook.

4.2 Analytics and advertising providers

  • Analytics providers receive the data and metrics described in Section 3.2.
  • Advertising provider — Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC). SaveKit does not display ads at present. If advertising is enabled, AdSense may process limited device and cookie data as described in Section 3.4.

4.3 Data sharing

SaveKit does not sell your personal data.

Advertising partners may process device and cookie data to serve and measure ads and limit how often they are shown, subject to your consent where required by law.

Except as described in this Privacy Policy, SaveKit only shares data with third parties when required by law.

4.4 Download processing

To resolve a link, SaveKit passes it to its own extraction service, which fetches the public media and returns the download link. That request carries the submitted URL in encrypted form, your browser’s user agent, accepted formats and language, and a rotating identifier derived from your IP address.

The identifier is a keyed hash that changes every day and is used only to apply rate limits. Your IP address itself is not sent, and the identifier cannot be reversed into it.

5. User responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that:

  • You have the right to access or download the content you request
  • Your use of the content complies with copyright law and the source platform’s rules
  • Your activity complies with the laws that apply where you use the Service

SaveKit does not encourage or facilitate copyright infringement.

6. Data security

SaveKit applies reasonable security measures to protect data processed while providing the Service.

The Service has no user accounts and does not maintain a download history. Temporary URL records described in Section 2.3 are not accompanied by information that can link them to an individual.

7. User rights

SaveKit has no user accounts and keeps no personal records that identify you, apart from information you choose to send us by email.

You can:

  • Control cookies through your browser settings
  • Manage or block analytics tools with privacy and security extensions
  • Change or withdraw advertising consent where available, as described in Section 3.4

8. Community safety policy

SaveKit is a URL-processing tool, not a content hosting or distribution platform. We are committed to protecting users and prohibit use of the Service to download:

  • Sexually explicit, NSFW, or adult content
  • Content labeled mature or 18+ by the source platform
  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) — strictly prohibited
  • Content depicting, promoting, or glorifying terrorism, mass violence, or designated extremist organizations
  • Content that incites violence, murder, or harm against an individual or group
  • Content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors

SaveKit uses automated detection to block this content where possible. Because the Service processes URLs submitted by users, however, we cannot guarantee that every instance of prohibited content will be detected.

We continually improve our detection and response mechanisms. Where we become aware of illegal content, including CSAM, we cooperate with the relevant authorities as required by law.

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13.

SaveKit does not knowingly collect information from minors.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

SaveKit may update this Privacy Policy when necessary.

When changes are made, we will update the revision date at the top of the policy. Your continued use of the Service after an update means that you accept the revised version.
