Privacy Policy & Data Protection
How SaveKit handles your information — what we collect, what we don't, and how we keep your data safe.
Last Updated: June 2, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to savekit.io (“we”, “our”, “the Service”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you access or use our website.
By using our Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Personal Information
We do not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII).
We do not require signup, login, or any personal data submission.
2.2 Non-Personal Information
We may receive limited technical information such as:
- Browser type
- Device information
- Anonymized IP address
- Basic usage data
- Analytics-only metrics
This data is used only to:
- Maintain core functionality
- Improve performance
- Ensure security
- Analyze usage trends
None of this data can identify individual users.
2.3 Download Requests
When you provide a URL, we temporarily process it to retrieve publicly accessible content.
We only access:
- Public URLs
- Content the user voluntarily inputs
- Content not requiring login, authentication, paywalls, or bypassing protections
We do not store:
- URLs
- Downloaded files
- User history
- Logs of processed content
Processing is real-time and automatically deleted.
3. Cookies and Tracking
3.1 The Core Tool
The core download tool does not require cookies to function. Beyond that, cookies and similar technologies may be set by our anonymous usage analytics (Section 3.2) and, where advertising uses them, by advertising (Section 3.4). Any advertising cookies are set in line with your consent where consent is required.
3.2 Anonymous Usage Analytics
We use industry-standard analytics tools to understand how the site is used so we can fix bugs and improve the experience.
- Google Analytics (GA4) — anonymous traffic statistics (pages viewed, country-level location, device type). IP addresses are anonymized at collection. Data sharing with other Google services is disabled. Retention is limited.
- Microsoft Clarity — records anonymized page interactions (clicks, scrolls, rage-clicks) to help us find broken flows and confusing UI. Sessions are anonymized, do not contain form input, and are retained for a limited period.
What our analytics do not do:
- We don't ask for your email or social login.
- Our analytics data is not sold or shared with advertisers.
- Our analytics tools don't build cross-session profiles of you.
Your controls:
- Disable cookies in your browser settings.
- Use Do Not Track — we honor it.
- Block the scripts with any standard privacy extension (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials).
3.3 Failure Telemetry
When a link you paste fails (unsupported platform, invalid URL, private content, etc.), we record an anonymized failure event to help us fix what's broken. Protections:
- URLs are normalized before storage — query strings, fragments, and identifying path segments (post IDs, usernames, session tokens) are redacted
- No IP address, user-agent, cookie, or session is attached to the event
- High-volume events are sampled at 10%; all events auto-expire after 30 days
- Data is used solely to detect and fix platform-coverage gaps and outages
3.4 Advertising
savekit.io is free and supported in part by advertising. Depending on the placement, advertising may take either of these forms:
- Curated, self-served ads — links or images we choose ourselves and label "Sponsored". These set no advertising cookies and involve no third-party tracking.
- Third-party advertising — ads delivered by advertising partners, which may store and read cookies or similar identifiers on your device and process limited data (such as your IP address, device type, and approximate country- or region-level location) to display and measure ads.
Where consent is required (for example in the EU and UK), personalized advertising runs only with your consent, collected through a consent banner; without consent you may still see non-personalized ads. You can review the current advertising partners (if any) and change or withdraw your consent at any time through the consent/privacy settings on this site, or block ad scripts with any standard privacy extension. Any third-party partners process this data under their own privacy policies.
4. Third-Party Services
4.1 Supported Platforms
savekit.io processes only publicly available content from third-party platforms.
We do not:
- Access private or restricted content
- Bypass login, watermark, or copyright protections
- Circumvent platform rules
We are not affiliated with any platform (e.g., Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook).
4.2 Analytics and Advertising Providers
- Analytics providers receive anonymized metrics only (see Section 3.2).
- Advertising providers — where third-party advertising is used, ads are delivered by advertising partners that process limited device and cookie data to display ads, subject to your consent. The current partner list (if any) is available in the consent settings (see Section 3.4).
4.3 Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Where third-party advertising is used, advertising partners (see Section 3.4) process data to serve ads under your consent. We otherwise share data with third parties only when legally required.
5. Legal and User Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for ensuring:
- They have permission to access or download any content
- Their actions comply with copyright laws and platform policies
- Their activities are lawful in their jurisdiction
savekit.io does not encourage or facilitate copyright infringement.
6. Data Security
We apply reasonable security measures.
Since we do not store personal data or download history, overall exposure risk is minimized.
7. User Rights
Because we do not store personal data:
- We do not maintain user accounts
- We cannot retrieve or delete personal records we do not possess
- Users may control cookie usage through browser settings
- Where applicable, users may change or withdraw advertising consent at any time via the consent/privacy settings (see Section 3.4)
8. Community Safety Policy
savekit.io is a URL processing tool — we do not host, create, or provide content. We are committed to protecting all users — especially children — from harmful content and actively work to prevent downloading:
- Adult, sexually explicit, or NSFW content of any kind
- Content flagged as mature or 18+ by the source platform
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) — zero tolerance, strictly prohibited
- Content depicting, promoting, or glorifying terrorism, mass violence, or designated extremist organizations
- Content inciting violence, murder, or harm against any individual or group
- Any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors
We employ automated detection to block such content whenever possible. However, as a processing tool that handles user-submitted URLs, we cannot guarantee that all prohibited content will be caught in every case. We continuously improve our detection systems to close gaps. Attempts to access illegal content (such as CSAM) may be reported to the relevant authorities as required by law.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for children under age 13. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time.
Continued use of the Service indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
